The Essentials Of Home Gym Climate Control

Everyone wants to be fit, that’s a true fact but not everyone likes to do fitness workouts in a gym. Although working out in a gym has its own advantages, some people just don’t find the noise, dealing different types of people, sharing with the equipments and the hassle to go there to be really pleasing. So, what’s the best way to avoid those things that you don’t want in a gym? Have your own home gym!

A home gym makes working out accessible and minimizes room for excuses. Regardless of size, home gyms are really of great help. If you have plans of putting up your own home gym, you have to cover these basics: what will be your budget, the available space you have and of course, your fitness goal.

Your house, no matter how united it may seem will have different temperatures at different times. So when you’re thinking about putting up your own home gym, temperature should be one of your utmost concerns.

Why you should have climate control system in your home gym?

When you workout, your body heats up. To balance the temperature inside and outside, your body will make you sweat. Sweating is a natural form our body mechanizes to release the tensions inside but there will be times that your body cannot do so much to keep up with extreme heat of its external surroundings.

On the same manner, during extreme cold days your body cannot fully cope up the temperature unless when you put on a lot of clothes to keep yourself warm. A pack of clothing is not a good thing when you do exercise, right? This is where your climate control system can help you warm up the gym when it's too cold and cool down the gym when it's too warm. Plain simple!

·       It gives indoor air quality. It’s been said that indoor air is worser than the outside air in that the air inside doesn’t flow freely as it is outside. With this in mind, your home gym would probably have more congested air than the other parts of the house. Instead of having quality workouts in the comfort of your own gym, you’d probably give up on doing more exercises because of the heat.

With a climate control system, your home gym’s congested air will have better air quality as it will effectively exchange indoor air with fresh outdoor air.

·       Helps you save on energy consumption. Initially, having a climate control system can be quite expensive. But if you have to weigh in the benefits and do the math, you’d see how it will save you on your energy costs every month.

The climate control system already has its own cooling and heating system. You schedule it when you want your home gym to be cool and when you want it to be warm. Moreover, because it has systems rolled into one, it can already save you space, installation process and power consumption. You can also have this system run through a renewable energy source.

·       Your equipments will have longer life. Wherever your country is, your home will always be susceptible to moisture retention. Air inside cannot go out and flow freely as much as outside air does and has lesser exchanges with cool and dry air outside. To keep your equipments to last longer, the climate control system will bring the warm and moist air out and exchange it with a fresh and cool air.

·       Controlling the climate’s never been this convenient. There are companies that offer buyers with a convenient of controlling their house’s climate. You can easily set the temperature of your home gym at your preferred time with just the use of your mobile phones.

Other Things You Have To Prepare For Your Home Gym

Aside from your climate control, you need to be certain what do you want inside your home gym? If you are thinking about doing your cardio exercises outside, then you should be filling in your home gym with weight equipment, but if you plan to do it indoors, then you have to have at least one machine like a rowing machine, cross trainer or treadmill. A mirror is also a good accessory for your home gym. It helps you to keep an eye on your progress.

Distractions are also a good way to keep yourself from focusing on the exercise you are doing. Chances are you’d easily give up and it’ll easy wear you out. You can place a television or a stereo inside your home gym at a place where you can easily watch it during your workout.

If you have a space to spare for a home gym, don’t make other ways to deviate from that possibility, instead make good use out of that space. Also, temperature is of vital importance in one’s home regardless of the type of rooms. To keep everything at its neutral temperature or according to your preference without the hassle of turning different units on at different times, a climate control system is a handy use. So now you don't have any more excuses not to start training at home! Get ready and enjoy a good workout!

Anti Aging Cream for Men

Mostly, I've been writing about all the sports we do in the family, my motorcycle and hiking trips and about eating healthy. A few other interesting topics were about men's health and skin care. This post will be about men's aging... Or actually prevent or delay the aging ;)

Anti aging cream for men is made specifically not to smell like women's anti aging cream and has other ingredients that are meant to penetrate a mans skin. That does not men that the ingredients are greatly different. Both men and women have the same aging issues, wrinkles, fine lines and leathery looking skin if they do not do something about it.

There are some tried and true ingredients that can be found in anti aging cream that are found in cream for women but the packaging and the fact that it is made for men can easily drive the cost up quite a bit.

Most companies do not market anti aging crème specially to men. They market it to women because it is more accepted in society for a women to be vain and worried about aging BUT just because you are a man does not mean you want to look like something that was road hard and hung up wet to dry. Men should be able to buy anti aging crèmes without the stigma attached.

The Cost
The fact is that these creams are more expensive for men than they are for women because there is a smaller market of men that purchase these creams and there are less options that are made specifically for men's skin.

There are some subtle differences between men and women's skin. Men's skin is a bit thicker and a little harder to penetrate than a woman's skin so the ingredients of the skin cream does need to reflect this by using different ratios of ingredients to best suit the use for men's skin. This of course also drives up the cost.

What you can do is just by cream that is made for a woman's skin and use a little more of it if you want to avoid the higher cost. Finding products made especially for men can be difficult but it is not impossible but you should know that you will pay more for it than your female counterpart will pay for her creams.

The Products
There are some products that are out on the market that are perfect for men. Baxters of California offers a full range of men's anti aging creams that include night time and day time moisturizers, sun blocks and other products that can help reduce the signs of aging.

Apothecary also offers a men's line of skin care products that include anti aging cremes. They are all fairly priced. Many of the larger men's fashion designer houses also offer a full line of mens skin care that are dependable and fairly priced.

L'Oreal just started a new line of skin care that is geared toward men. They already have quite a few skin care products for men. It is rumored that they will introduce a new anti aging cream for men in the next few months. L'Oreal is an affordable brand that is reliable. As more men become aware of the need to care for their skin there will be more products offered.

Manual Or Electric Shaving?

Manual Or Electric Shaving – The Pros & Cons Of Both!

Just like many other Americans, I've started shaving with disposable razor blades until I had enough money to buy my first electric shaver. Over the years, I've bought new electric shavers a few times and now it's time again to buy a new shaver. Of course I can just go to the shop and buy the shaver which will be recommended to me but this time I've been doing a bit more research myself.

And of course, the first question is: should I buy a new electric shaver or maybe a manual shaver? The electric shavers have been improved a lot over the years and even better with the special wet&dry models but a traditional straight or double-edged razor has a very nice smooth shave as well...

Shaving is an ancient practice (wikipedia). With technological advancement, today there is the choice between manual and electric shaving. While manual or electric shaving has been a choice for many years now, wet electric shaving was not a reality till a few years back. Today, even that has been accomplished. Every man has a personal preference when it comes to shaving. Some men are naturally inclined to shave manually while some grow up with electric shavers. What you shall like or choose will certainly be your call. Without personal biases and without opinionating on the subject, here is an objective assessment of manual and electric shaving, taking into consideration the pros and cons of both.

Electric Shaving Pros
  • Electric shaving is faster than manual shaving. Electric shaving is more effective at one swipe which means that you don’t have to shave the same area repeatedly. Electric shavers force the hairs to get erected before cutting them, making for a quick shave at once.
  • Electric shaving is more convenient and it is easier to use an electric shaver almost anywhere, something that is not possible with manual shavers. In other words, electric shavers are portable, certainly more easily.
  • Electric shaving doesn’t call for accessories or essentials, from gels to water.
  • Electric shaving is effective for beards, facial hair, sideburns and mustaches.
  • Electric shaving is also safer as there is almost nil possibility of cuts, nicks or ingrown hairs.

Electric Shaving Cons
  • Electric shaving does not offer an impeccably or spotlessly clean shave. You do not get as close or as smooth a finish as manual razors offer. As a result, you will have to indulge in shaving more often than you normally would.
  • Electric shaving is also more difficult to master. One can easily use an electric shaver but perfecting the motions and getting an effective shave with such devices require practice.
  • Electric shaving is a dry experience which most men don’t like. However, there are some latest models which allow wet shaving, using gel or foam and water.
  • Some electric shavers make a lot of noise, thus making an inconvenient or unpleasant ambience.
  • Electrical shaving requires batteries and you need to buy them again or recharge them as and when needed. The batteries may run out in the middle of a shave.
  • Electric shaving calls for more maintenance, unless there are automated cleaning functions.
  • Electric shaving is costly, much more than what manual shaving demands.

Manual Shaving Pros
  • Manual shaving offers a clean, smooth or close shave.
  • Manual shaving is easier for teenagers and also quite convenient to master.
  • Manual shaving is less expensive. It is almost inexpensive and all materials or parts are easily replaceable. Even buying new kits is a miniscule cost, especially in comparison with electric shaving kits.
  • Manual shaving kits are harmless and they can be carried anywhere. They don’t need any batteries or power outlets. Some gel or foam and some water would be all that you need to shave.

Manual Shaving Pros
  • Manual shaving is painstakingly time consuming. You have to apply the creams, gels, shave and clean your face, the device and then restore all the essentials and accessories.
  • You have to continuously change the blades of the manual shavers. Some blades, depending on the model, can be expensive. But those expensive blades will also last longer.
  • Cuts or bruising, nicks or ingrown hairs are more common with manual shaving.

How To Eat Less Sugar

If you are wondering how to eat less sugar there are a few steps that you will need to take to be able to come off that white addiction. Sugar like anything else can be addictive. People will go to extremes to get their sugar fix.

Sugar is not a necessary nutrient. In other words your body does not need sugar it is simply empty calories. Some sugar is fine but most people get all the sugar that they need from a healthy diet WITHOUT adding in the sugary treats.

Most all natural food contains some sort of sugar but in reality it is not those sugars that are the problem it is the sugar that we add to our drinks and our foods that cause the issues and is very addictive (bbc). A diet that has an excessive amount of sugar is a bad diet that will pack on the pounds. If you want to know how to eat less sugar continue reading.

Recognize What Sugar Is

Manufacturers can be a little tricky with their labels. If you want to start cutting out sugar from your diet than you need to be able to recognize the words that are used to hide some sugar in your food. Words that also mean there is sugar in your food include:

·      Sucrose, Glucose, High Fructose, Lactose, Turbinado, Sorghum Syrup, Corn Syrup, Caramel, Carob Syrup, Dextrin, Maltodextrin, Barley Malt, Beet Sugar, Cane Juice, Golden Syrup, Dehydrated Cane Juice Syrup, Ethyl Maltyl, Glucose Solids

All of these ingredients are sugar. They are commonly found in a host of pre packaged goods. Understanding what you are eating is half the battle. Once you get the terms under control it is a lot easier to avoid hidden sugars.

Read The Label

Now you have the terms that are used by manufacturers to hide sugar in your food now you have to practice reading the label of everything you eat. Some things are no brainers. Like cut back on candy, chocolate, watch the amount of sugar you use in your coffee or tea but somethings are really quite surprising when you are thinking about how to eat less sugar.

Sometimes things that are supposed to be healthy for you actually contain a tad too much hidden sugar. Reading the label of everything that you put in your mouth can help you to keep your sugar consumption in check.  The average American consumes up to 64 pounds of sugar each year. There is no nutritional benefit to consuming sugar and it can lead to Type II diabetes. Reading the label of everything you eat can help you get out of the sugar loop. Check out these sites (here and here) for more in-depth info.

Healthy Sugars

There are healthier ways to get your sugar fix. Fruits! Fruits have fructose (which is an additive in a lot of pre packaged foods) but it is easily digested by the body and of course it is in the perfect amount because it is all natural! When that sugar craving hits if you want to know how to eat less sugar the answer is to grab something that is good for you like fruit and combine it with yogurt as a great evening snack!

Finding the Best Cardio Training For You

Being healthy is tricky.  In fact, being healthy is so tricky, and then a growing number of Americans are struggling with their weight.  Obesity is on the rise, and health concerns that go along with obesity like diabetes and heart problems have never been more prevalent.

The first thing people think of when they consider losing weight is to go on a diet.  Monitoring what you eat is helpful, especially look into the nutritions, though it represents only half of what you need to be doing to be healthy.  Exercise is also a must.  The purpose of diet and exercise isn’t to become stick thin, but to be healthy.  Each of us have our own ideal body size, and that doesn’t mean being skinny.  Rather, it means being healthy, being comfortable with our bodies, and maintaining an appropriate body fat% based off of age, sex, and height.

Central to living healthy is being active.  The best way to be healthy is to have a little cardio training every day.  So, what does cardio training mean?  What is the best cardio training for you?  Lets take a quick look and find out.

What Is Cardio?

Simply put, cardio is physical exercise you do, with a low to high intensity.  It depends almost entirely on aerobic energy, which is energy that comes about through doing something for an extended period of time.  Cardio helps strengthen muscles like your heart, while also burning calories.  If you are considering exercising and you have not exercised in quite some time, then you will most likely be doing a cardio workout.

A Few of the Best and Easiest Cardio Training You Can Do

Below is a list of 5 different kinds of cardio training you can do with little set up or through a gym.  The types of cardio increase in their impact and fat burned the further down the list you go.

1.  Walking
Impact:  Low
Rate of Fat Loss:  Slow

Walking represents a low impact activity that is great for our health.  By taking time out of the day to walk, you can keep your body active.  While it is not the best way to burn calories, it is perfect for those who are looking to build strength, or who do not want to tax their heart with a more intense workout.

2.  Biking
Impact:  Low to Medium
Rate of Fat Loss:  Medium

Depending on the kind of bike, the impact to your joints will be between low and medium.  Indoor biking offers an opportunity to exercise in a controlled climate, and allows you to distract yourself with TV, books, music, etc.

3.  Running/Jogging
Impact:  Medium to High
Rate of Fat Loss:  High

Every beginners guide to running first starts with walking.  Running is a great cardio activity, but it can be stressful if your body is not ready for it.  The best thing you can do is to build up slowly.

4.  Swimming
Impact:  Low
Rate of Fat Loss:  High

Swimming offers the fat loss of running with little to no impact.  Though it takes time to build up form, swimming is a great way to exercise many parts of your body at once.

5.  High Intensity Interval Training
Impact:  High
Rate of Fat Loss:  High

High intensity interval training (HIIT) is an amazing way to build muscle and lose fat.  Comprised of a number of activities that are done in quick succession, HIIT can be a challenge on your body but well worth it because of the results.

Sporting is healthy if you do it in the correct way. Don't overdo your trainings and get injured! A good life starts with enough sport and good food, creating a great health!

Cardio training is very important for other sports as well. Think of football, Nascar drivers to boxers. All of them train a lot of cardio to stay in a great shape!
